This means that a missing person case will get more coverage if the victim is a white, attractive, young woman. The media makes a better, stronger and compelling story of when the missing person is a white woman. When it is anyone else other than a white woman the media does not show much interest. And this brings about a disparity in the way major media outlets cover missing person. When a media channel is broadcasting the news of a missing person who is white, then the intensity, the rate and the projection is much stronger than it is when person of color is missing (Stillman, 2007).
